Died at sea 5/07/1942  (age 54) when torpedoed by the German Submarine U-201, NE of the Azores, in position 38.04N, 22.48W [16]. She was on a voyage from Buenos Aires to Freetown, Sierra Leone with a cargo of 5,659 tons of frozen meat. Forty five crew and 17 passengers were lost.
