BURTON, John Francis

Sgt.Pilot, RAFVR. RAF Upper Heyford. (Pilot of OTU 16)

British resident in Buenos Aires. Killed on active service 27th November 1943 (age 20). His Vickers Wellington (BJ823) stalled in a steep bank whilst lining up for a bombing practice run 12 minutes out from the Preston Cape Range. Son of Dorothy Wellby and William J. Burton, (Chief Revenue & Audit Division, Southern, Western and Midland Railways). Leaving Exhibitioner Sutton Valence School for Cambridge University. Left Argentina before the declaration of war. Roll of Honour English Social Club Lomas de Zamora and also Commemorated in the central stained glass window of the chapel in the Lavallol Cemetery
