Died at sea 5th Apr 1943 (age 26). The S.S.Vaalaren (a Swedish Motor Vessel) was part of the convoy HX231 crossing the North Atlantic on her return voyage to England when she was torpedoed by the U-229 off the South Coast of Greenland
